Re-Uniting

It's sad sometimes when it takes the death of a loved one to bring family back together, but if that's how it happens, seize the moment. Catch up, laugh, cry and then don't let the time slip by again. That is my promise to Kris and Herb. I always admired my cousin Kris and her husband Herb, and time hasn't changed that at all. We had the pleasure of their company at the SchierZenn bistro last night and it was spent trying to catch up on the last several years. It's clear that we need many more hours together to truly catch up. The weather was perfect for bistro virgins. Warm and balmy but just enough cooling down after dinner to enjoy a fire and a little more laughter. After they left I started searching my photo closet to see if I could find the Kris and Herb I remembered in my High School years, and as you can tell below, I found them! What is burned in my memory is the photo of them driving away on Herb's motorcycle. I think they were off to some commune, at least that's the romantic story in my head.

They haven't changed much - it is obvious how much respect and love they still have for one another. It warmed my heart to see that two people can still be just as much in love as they were so many years ago. Even after the stressful months they had caring for their mom, they still are filled with laughter and fun. And they still look exactly the same.

Ahhh, yes, the bistro has a magical effect on people and conversation; no matter what the topic is you know that you can be yourself and not be judged.
